Onix will be the first model of the brand in Brazil to receive, in 2017, the new engine 1.0 three-cylinder flex, which will be manufactured at the company's engine plant in Joinville, Santa Catarina. engine it is Ecotec 1.0 which equips the sub-compact Adam in Europe, and is offered in versions of 75 HP (aspirated), 90 HP (turbo) and 115 HP (turbo direct injection).
